ABOUT ME & CONTACT
The first article I ever wrote was awful. It was so bad my managing editor had to keep it from running in the newspaper that week. He lied and told me the story needed “more time to develop” — a phrase we now use to mean absolute garbage. That was four years ago, I haven't had a story cut since.
I'm a 2020 graduate from Elon University, where I double majored in Journalism and International Relations. While at Elon, I served as the managing editor of award-winning newspaper, The Pendulum, and as a multimedia journalist for the student news organization, Elon News Network.
My reporting has taken me to leprosy colonies in Brazil, refugee camps in Jordan, teacher protests in Morocco, Confederate rallies in the South and a dozen other incredible places. On the field, I conduct interviews, take photos, record video and have knack for convincing people to go on the record. Off the field, I code websites, create data visualization and can turn over a story whenever its needed.
Originally, I'm from The Philippines but have been studying in the U.S. since 2014. I'm a proud member of the Asian American Journalists Association, the Society of Professional Journalists and Investigative Reporters and Editors.
My dream to become an investigative journalist covering in conflict zones began in the 8th grade and hasn't changed. I want my stories to shine a light on the issues impacting humanity that are currently being left in the dark.
